Abstract
The discourses of the body in the field of physical education is a captivating work that explores the meanings inherent in the discursive practice of the body within the framework of the curricular structure of the Physical Education teacher training program at the aforementioned university. This analysis is carried out from an archeological-genealogical perspective, providing a novel and critical view of how corporeality is approached in this context. From an archeological perspective, the book delves into a thorough analysis of the "archives" or documentary materials of the curriculum, the research agendas of the program's professors, the academic productivity (books, articles, records), as well as the advanced or postgraduate training of the professors. This approach makes it possible to trace the vestiges of discursive practices about the body, establishing a dialogue between past and present. On the other hand, the genealogical analysis examines the conditions that allowed discourses about the body to become institutionalized since 1998 and to become legitimized practices in teacher training. This work, then, illuminates how these discourses have influenced and continue to shape the training of Physical Education teachers at the Universidad de los Llanos.
